On average, we accept one third of all clothes dropped off for consignment sale. We find that when our Boomerang consignors follow our ABC's of sorting, we take upwards of 80% of their clothes.
Some of the things we consider when sorting clothing...
- defects, i.e., stains, tears, wear, pilling, wrinkling, alterations
- season (fall and winter from June to December and spring/summer from December to June)
- newborn to size 10 sells better than size 12 to 18 (pre-teens are fussy)
- recent styles for both children's and maternity clothing (from the last 3 years)
- we accept more popular brands like Gap, Gymboree, Souris Mini, Absorba, etc., than value brands like Bum, Teddy's Choice, Joe, etc. Our customers prefer popular brands at resale prices.
